Transportation Website Expands to Four County Area in West Michigan

West Michigan residents in a four county area can now visit one website to find a variety of public and private transportation options if they need a ride for work, school, medical or social service visits, or intercity travel.

The Ottawa County Transit Coalition recently expanded its website, www.lakeshoreridelink.org, to include the counties of Allegan, Ottawa, Kent and Muskegon.  The website, which was first launched in 2010 with transportation providers for Ottawa County only, now includes more than 50 transportation providers with detailed information on their services and costs to help residents find a ride.

13OYS - Tell us about the potholes in your neighborhood

As the winter turns to spring, more and more potholes start to appear throughout West Michigan. We would like you to tell us where the worst potholes can be found.

If you've come across a really bad pothole in your neighborhood, please leave a comment below to let us know where we can find it.

Also, if you can safely get a photo, email those to pics@wzzm13.com along with your name, phone number, and location where the photo was taken.

As comments and photos come in, WZZM13 will publicize the worst of the worst in an effort to get them fixed as quickly as possible.

Letter from the Superintendent on Transportation

Letter from the Superintendent on Transportation

Dear Sparta Parents, Students, Staff and Community,

I am writing this to express my sincere apology for the transportation system failure. There is no excuse that can be made for what occurred. In addition to bussing, I want to also apologize for not being able to reply to all of the emails, phone calls, and messages received the past few days. I will do my best to continue contacting everyone as time permits.

As a school district we have gone through many changes throughout the years. This year's change back to separate bus runs for secondary and elementary students while sharing transportation services with Cedar Springs was obviously much more complicated than ever anticipated. It serves no purpose to make excuses or point fingers in assigning blame as that will not correct the mistakes of this week. Moving forward, we have to fix the system, learn from mistakes made, and make every effort to regain your confidence.
