Sparta Village To Develop Central Park into Housing

The Sparta Village Council recently voted to subdivide Central Park into 20 lots for new homes. This is the property of the former Central School that was demolished. The Council is hoping an area developer will come forward with an interest in this property.

The lots would sell for $6000 each and are 66 feet wide by 132 feet long. The Village president, Skip Meyer, states that he is pleased with the subdivision plans by Roosien Associates.  “We hope to build a walk able subdivision that will attract new residents to our village,” said Mr. Meyer.

Some residents are not too happy about this decision, saying their children frequent this park on a regular basis, but as Mr. Meyer pointed out, there are two parks within a block of this location, Bayleaf and Rodgers Park.
