ATTENTION ALL 6TH - 11TH GRADERS WHO WANT TO PLAY ANY SPORT IN 2012-13.

In order to participate in Athletics, all Athletes must have a physical exam on a yearly basis. Spectrum Family Medicine will again have a night where they will be offering a sports physical for $15. The date for this is Wednesday May 30 at 5:30.

Spectrum health is on 12 Mile and M 37 just west of the HS. You will not find a sports physical for this price anywhere!!! Please take advantage of this so that you can start your sport on the first day!

Golfers Get Ready!!

What does a golf cart, beautiful Friday afternoon outside, and mingling with friends all have in common? The Sparta Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing on Friday, August 17, 2012!

Tee Off at 10:30 am, lunch at the turn, and prizes! Only $50 per person or a 4 player team with sponsorship is only $275! A great afternoon of raising money for the Sparta Chamber events and networking on the golf course!

Sparta Special Olympics

The Sparta Special Olympics basketball season kicked off in February. The team's opening game was held at Cedar Springs where the Spartans suffered a tough overtime loss. The Olympians travelled to Lincoln for their second game of the season and played great.

"I have learned that I need to let the players go. It's not like the classroom where I can constantly be assisting," Coach Suann Foust said. "During the games I'm on the sideline and I need to learn to be quiet and let the kids play."

The Spartans have had two home games so far against Lincoln and Rockford. The team gave their best effort and played great in front of their home crowd. Coach Foust has done a phenomenal job of coaching and leading her players.

"It's my favorite thing to do!" she said.

What an apt way to describe June 8 & 9 at Spartan Field!
Sparta Township HistoricalCommission (STHC) wants to celebrate, remember, and fight back with each of you who have a loved one touched by cancer. Our goal is three-fold:

Celebrate- Come to our Tribute Tent to view activities from the previous four Relays held in Sparta.

Remember-Send us a photo of your loved one(s) who are either survivors or victims of cancer along with a short paragraph tribute and a $5 donation for each photo. We will frame the picture, attach your tribute, and position on a Wall of Honor to remember and celebrate the loved one you have chosen.
