Turkey Trot Returns November 26

For the 5th year the annual Turkey Trot is a go in Sparta to benefit the Sparta Rugby Club.

The community is invited to take part or watch this 5K Thanksgiving Day event. Registration takes place at 8am with the race commencing at the Sparta Civic Center located 75 N. Union Street at 9am.

A perfect craft day is offered for women this Saturday, November 21.

Howard Christian Nature Center invites hunter widows the chance to pass the time away with an opportunity to use their talent to create upcoming holiday mementos’ to take home.

Natural ornaments & Wreaths for the holidays are the craft activities offered at Camp Lily’s on 20 Mile Road on Saturday, November 21 from 11am-1pm. Register soon to attend this crafty experience!

A donation of $10 is encourage, which includes supplies.

Little Shop of Horrors at Greenville Performing Arts Center

Greenville High School will perform the play “Little Shop of Horrors” on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, November 19 – 21 at 7:30pm at the Greenville Performing Arts Center, located at 111 N. Hillcrest in Greenville, MI.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students, grade K-12 and senior citizens, age 60 and older. Tickets can be purchased at the door, the UPS Store in Greenville, or on line at www.greenville.k12.mi.us Click on THE ARTS tab, scroll down to Event Tickets and follow the instructions.

Holiday Craft Show & Bazaar Returns

With the change of the seasons & the upcoming holidays quickly approaching, a favorite past time is around the corner.

Holy Family Parish located at 425 S. State Street in Sparta invites the public to their annual Craft Show & Bazaar to visit 34 craft booths for one-of-a-kind gift ideas or for your own collection. There will be handmade crafts - like ornaments, jewelry, wood, quilts and more, along with baked goods, raffles & door prizes.

This exciting Pie Making opportunity takes place on Thursday, November 12 from 6pm-8pm at Howard Christian Nature Center located at 16190 Red Pine Dr. NW in Kent City.

Hunters Chili Dinner & “Stuck in a Rut” Presentation

Register soon to enjoy the some comforting Chili & the chance to learn basic biology details of Michigan’s favorite mammal, the white tailed deer from presenter, David Kieft.

This presentation & Chili Dinner takes place on Thursday, November 5, 6-8pm at Howard Christian Nature Center located at 16190 Red Pine Dr. NW in Kent City. Chili is served at 6pm and the presentation follows at 7pm.

A $5.00 donation is encouraged for the Chili dinner & $5.00 donation for the presentation, or $8.00 for both.

This Foodie event is an opportunity to meet & greet incredible teachers, aides & administrators of the Sparta Public Schools System, while enjoying favorite Mexican dishes where all tips will be donated to the Sparta Education Foundation.
