The 2012 Downtown Sparta Farmers Market is on Wednesday’s from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm beginning June 13 through September 26. The Market will be set up at ChoiceOne Bank Parking Lot in downtown, Sparta!

The Sparta Farmers Market would like to invite you to participate in our 4th Annual Farmers Market for the 2012 season! Our goal is to strengthen and support local farmers & producers, bring people together in a community activity while making the Farmers Market a weekly destination. Educating local consumers about the benefits of eating locally grown and healthy fresh foods are important to the Sparta Farmers Market!

In addition we have a 10 week Summer Concert in Rogers Park Series with Special Events where the attendance swells!

Golfers Get Ready!!

What does a golf cart, beautiful Friday afternoon outside, and mingling with friends all have in common? The Sparta Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing on Friday, August 17, 2012!

Tee Off at 10:30 am, lunch at the turn, and prizes! Only $50 per person or a 4 player team with sponsorship is only $275! A great afternoon of raising money for the Sparta Chamber events and networking on the golf course!

All you can eat Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser this Saturday

All you can eat Pancake Breakfast for heart research Saturday May 5, 2012 7:30am-10:30am at the Sparta Civic Center, 75 N. Union, Sparta, MI 49345. Breakfast is all you can eat pancakes, sausage, eggs, coffee and juice. The Sparta Lions Club is graciously cooking for this event to help fund money for Faith's Angels Inc, a local non-profit whose mission is to raise awareness for heart defects and funds for research. Cost: $5/person, under age 3 is FREE!

May 20 - Baccalaureate Service for Seniors at High School Auditorium at 7:00 p.m.

May 22 - Senior Awards night 7:00 p.m. at High School Auditorium

May 24 & 25 - Senior Exams

May 30 - Senior checkout and Graduation practice 7:45 a.m.

May 31 - Graduation 7:30 p.m. High School gym

Grant & Sparta High School Jazz Bands host night of jazz at Grant Middle School

The Sparta Jazz Band is teaming up with the Grant Jazz band to host a night of good food, jazz music, and if you are daring, a little dancing. We need strong representation from our Sparta Community to make this work.

Featuring: The Grant & Sparta High School Jazz Bands, Friday, April 27, 2012 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Grant Middle School, 96 E. State Road - Grant, MI 49327.

Tickets are $12 each/$40 per family (up to 4 - $5 each additional person up to 6)

Come for great food by City Limits Café and music!!

Visit Howard Christian Nature Center at 16190 Red Pine Road in Kent City on Sunday, May 6 from 9am to 8pm to benefit Scott Greenup’s Medical Cost due to Cancer!

Make this a day of fun for the whole family with a $5 Pancake Breakfast from 9am to 11am. Then check out the Silent Auction taking place all day long and end the day with a $5 Spaghetti Dinner from 6pm to 8pm or slip-in for your event choices through the day.
