New flag pole erected in honor of Bill Bloom

This summer a group of Sparta residents and patriots worked together to replace the flag pole at the north end of the Spartans football field to honor the memory of Bill Bloom, a long time school district employee and community supporter. The long list of contributors, Troop 704 & several community businesses participated in this project, demonstrating the spirit of cooperation and community involvement. This is what makes Sparta a great place to live. 

2009-2010 Yearbooks arriving soon

Spartan students, the 2009-2010 yearbooks will be arriving any day now. Check out the book cover. A mock-up is hanging in the student store. Extra copies will be sold for $65, but supplies are limited. Get your money to VanDusen to reserve a copy. Extras will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Sparta Fire Department needs help for a $10K grant

Through the "Be Fire Smart Pledge", community members can take an online fire safety quiz to help the Sparta Fire department to win a $10,000 grant from the Liberty Mutual fire safety program.
