SPARTA, Mich.-- A female hunter is the winner of Sparta’s inaugural Buck Pole.

According to the Sparta Chamber of Commerce's Facebook page, Corrine Toth took first place with her 175 pound buck, which had a 20-inch spread and 11 points.  Ryan Luckard placed second, with a 175 pound, 10 point buck with a 17.5 inch spread.  Third place went to Jeff Kutzli, who bagged a 154 pound, 12 point buck with a 17.5 inch spread.

At least ten bucks were on display during Friday’s competition, which the village hopes to bring back again next year.
